About Rhonda

I have an undergraduate degree from UC San Diego in Quantitative Economics and Decisions Science and an MBA from University of Michigan. Married to David Buck (my high school sweetheart), we have three sons in college. In addition to work and home responsibilities, I am actively involved in my community and church.

For about a decade, I worked in healthcare administration where I oversaw administrative, fiscal, and operational functions of grants management and clinical divisions. As part of a strategic development team, I also identified practices to either acquire or establish in key markets. My employers were University of Michigan Medical Center and PeaceHealth Medical Group.

The past twenty years have been centered on education for my own kids and students whom I teach. I substitute teach all subjects in middle and high school. I am especially partial to mathematics but enjoy all school subjects; I thoroughly enjoy the “A-ha!” moment when I teach students new material. I led a competitive math team for five years, advancing to and placing at state competitions each year. Students needing extra assistance with pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry and the SAT have sought tutoring support from me. I have done extensive personal research on SAT strategy and successful college application development, offering guidance to many students and parents over the years.

My college prep services offer great value to you and your student. For SAT prep, I instruct students on the best strategies for maximizing their scores. I create a process that removes the burden from the parent and provides structure and encouragement for the student. With college application preparation, I shoulder the burden with the student by reviewing application requirements, creating task lists and timelines, discussing essay topic ideas, editing essays, reviewing applications before submission, and garnering powerful letters of recommendation. In all, I tailor my services to the needs of your student.

Goals. Strategy. Process. Success.

I will take your student’s goals seriously, instruct on strategy, and create processes that ease burdens and foster production. Success is our shared benefit from hard work and commitment (sprinkled with fun and laughter as well).
